This is what separates us from some other firewood companies, that is we bake our firewood for as long as the firewood needs to greatly reduce the moisture within the wood. Some companies, during periods where they are most busiest, lets say in the middle of winter, in

December, well the firewood company may be under great pressure to produce logs, so they may not bake the firewood for the correct length of time. Yet we never cut corners, we always produce quality logs.

Why don’t you sell seasoned logs?

Some companies do dry their timber in a barn, and this is in the belief that over time, the moisture will evaporate out of the wood and they will become seasoned ready for burning. The problem with this is, we live in such a wet, damp climate here in Great Britain, that the wood is constantly absorbing moisture, so we think a better way is to put the cut logs into a kiln, and to bake the logs.

If the wood is not dry enough, then we will simply bake the logs for a bit longer in our kiln, until when we put our moisture meter reads that the moisture is greatly reduced enough, ready for us to be able to sell the logs.
